At the Bellavista Hotel in Puerto Varas, we are passionate about sustainability and caring for the environment. For this reason, we give you the possibility of offsetting the carbon footprint generated on your trip, supporting the wetlands of our region.
Use our online calculator to measure your CO2 emissions and donate an amount according to your footprint.
Your contribution will support the “Llanquihue Wetlands Restoration Plan” of the Legado Chile foundation. This plan seeks to recover the valuable wetland ecosystems of our region. Restoration involves soil improvement, care of the mirror of water cleaning of micro-garbage dumps, reforestation with native species, maintenance and monitoring of flora and fauna.
Restored wetlands regulate climate, control flooding, purify water and air, and are home to diverse species. They also offer water, food, medicine and spaces for leisure. It is estimated that their annual carbon capture ascends to, approximately, 2,5 tons per hectare, contributing to climate change mitigation.
